Me and my (dad's) treasured Nikon Coolpix. Not the most amazing camera technically, but it does the job (sometimes).
About Me
My name is Iman, and I am a freelance photographer and writer in the early stages of my creative career. I am based mainly in London, UK, but also work in Dubai, UAE. Having recently graduated from King's College London with a 1st in Philosophy, Politics & Economics, I am now taking time to focus on and develop my creative pursuits.
Alongside being a hobbyist photographer for over a decade, I have photographed for social media promotion during university, as well as some private events. My main photographic interests are capturing people, places, and how they interact with each other. Over the next few months, I will be branching out into undertaking more editorial & conceptual shoots, as well as venturing further into humanist and docu-style street photography.
As a writer, my academic, policy-based work has been published, and I have also written, commissioned, and edited several journalistic and investigative articles over the last 5 years. I also write poetry and narrative fiction, which can be found on my Medium page.
Photography enables me to preserve the messiness and beauty of daily life; writing allows me to create and craft narratives, combining to convey distinct visual and literary experiences. It is this duality that fuels me and urges me to continue refining my crafts, and sharing the many stories that still need to be told.
